PRESS REVIEWS
"From the soprano Catherine Swanson flows a lyric timbre, especially in her final aria."
Stuttgarter Nachrichten, April 3, 2007
"Of the soloists shines.... the soprano Catherine Swanson. She exercised the art of shaping the finely composed effects."
Stuttgarter Zeitung, April 3, 2007
"The soprano, this magnificent instrument, amalgamated her own part in somnambulistic certainty with the tones of the orchestra, but found enough opportunity to demonstrate independence. A pleasant, expressive and carrying voice restored this Telemann to soaring flight."
In a letter from a listener
"Accurate, supple, and with great dynamic flexibility describes the performance of Catherine Swanson, whose clear, luminous soprano has become more voluminous and expressive. In the higher registers she fascinates with controlled dramatic augmentation... The large audience was delighted by Catherine Swanson’s magnificent coloratura in the final three compositions -- a perfect and heartily applauded musical lark."
Paul Schorno, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, March 26, 2005
"The voice of Catherine Swanson is well-placed, impressive in its wonderful vocal quality and perfect intonation. The listeners were extremely enthusiastic about the programme selection and high standard of interpretation, expressing their gratitude with long rounds of applause."
Franzgerhard von Aichberger, Ludwigsburger Kreiszeitung, March 28, 2006
"For all who have an ear for beautiful voices... the famous aria in the Basel Zaide production was seductively and sensually sung by an unhappy, beautiful slave (Catherine Swanson)."
Sigfried Schibli, Basler Zeitung, December 5, 2005
"Clear as a bell and with precise intonation, Catherine Swanson sang compositions of the birthday-boy Mozart... a fabulous event which should definitely be repeated on Mr. Mozart’s 300th birthday!"
Rolf de Marchi, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, January 30, 2006
